As if camera friendly pooches aren’t enough to capture attention, USA Networks lets graphic design take best in show in promos for its annual telecast of the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. Shot on green screen and created completely in After Effects, live action video of dogs is layered over intricately choreographed graphics. In each scene multiple wipes and edits frame pedigreed pets as giants running and skipping through iconic American landscapes. Animated still photos and design elements create a series of evolving locales with all roads leading to Madison Square Garden in New York. Allowing music and eye-popping visuals to do the talking voiceover is kept to the simply inviting copy "may the best, man’s best friend, win."
