Accom’s new digital disk recorder captures 10-bit YUV 4:2:2 video in HD (1920×1080 or 1280×720) and SD (525- or 625-line) resolutions. It also encodes Windows Media 9 Series video for digital dailies, DVD, or streaming video. The system uses a RAID-5 storage system and is built around Windows XP, with an included software user interface and an import/export utility that interfaces with render stations and film printers. It ships in configurations with 2.5 (starts at $22,600) or 5.5 hours ( $25,900) of HD record time. The ClipStore MXc is cheaper (starting at $13,500) and handles high-quality compressed HD and uncompressed SD.
