Convert HD to DVD with Freeware Tool

In the "good stuff" department, HDTV2DVD is a new freeware tool for Windows PCs to simply convert your HDTV material to DVD.
HDTV captures are MPEG-2 transport streams at either 1280 x 720p or 1920 x 1080i resolution, yet DVD is typically MPEG-2 program streams at 720 x 480 (for NTSC). This means that to play HD material on a "normal" DVD player you have to convert the source.
This is what HDTV2DVD does in a simple, user-friendly way. Load up your HDTV file (.ts or .tp), start the processing and HDTV2DVD will produce a VIDEO_TS DVD folder ready to burn.
A new version of HDTV2DVD (Build 0.4), released in early November, now supports 4:3 as well as 16:9 aspect ratios.

HDTV2DVD is a simplified version of the shareware tool, SVCD2DVD v2.0. The more sophisticated application is used to create DVDs from MPEG, VCD, SVCD or AVI (DivX, XviD, or MP4) files. No matter what your video expertise, it's easy to create DVDs from existing MPEG video and movies and convert DivX to DVD, XviD to DVD or MP4 to DVD.
The application can also be used to convert PAL to NTSC (with no jerkiness or skipping), create simple or intricate menus with background music, to add selectable subtitles to DVDs, and to make quick DVDs with a "one click" process.
