GenArts, makers of the Sapphire plug-ins that have inspired a cult-like following among graphics and effects artists, recently unveiled its new Sapphire Plug-ins version 2.0 for Avid AVX editing systems (including Xpress Pro HD, Media Composer Adrenaline and DS Nitris). With the new version expect faster render times, support for 16-bit processing, a more intuitive interface and a slew of brand new- and very cool- effects. Currently in public beta, the software will be available as a download- and also as a free three-week trial- from the GenArts site by the end of the year. Price still to be determined.
