Cutting Vision is pleased to
announce that multi-award winning editor Luis Lacau has joined the company.
Lacau has extensive experience editing for the Hispanic and general spot
markets and has spent the last five years freelancing with Match Frame, San
Antonio, and Red Car, in Dallas and New York. A native of Venezuela, he
most recently cut a five-spot campaign for HBO Latin America.
"We are delighted that Luis has chosen to join us at Cutting Vision. His
reel has some very exciting storytelling, and he also has a nice sense of
humor, all of which is totally shown in his work for HBO," says Jeff
Beckerman, Cutting Vision partner and creative director.
"Jeff and I have been talking about teaming up for a while," says Lacau.
"Now, the time is right for both of us and I'm looking forward to joining
him and the rest of the Cutting Vision staff."

Lacau brings to his new position 17 years experience in video and film
production and post-production as editor, post-production director,
producer, assistant director and operations manager working with top-level
post shops for such international clients as Pepsi, Miller Brewing,
Coca-Cola, Ford Motor Co., Quaker, Colgate, Warner Lambert, Chevrolet,
Kellogg's, Samsung, and Procter & Gamble.
Lacau was awarded a Silver Medal at the New York Festivals for his spot work
on Coca-Cola (2000) and has netted ANDA (Venezuela's National Association of
Advertisers) awards for Best Campaign/Ford (2000), Best Cinema Spot/ACA New
(1998), Best Animation/Polar Beer (1997), Best Special Effects/Maltin Polar
(1996) and Best Editorial/Kellogg's Special K (1995).
Lacau enjoys the storytelling aspects of editing. He believes that "editing,
like life, is all about rhythm. It's about how the piece moves and flows. A
good editor is either a good musician or a music fanatic, and I'm the
latter!
Lacau also brings strong client skills to his position at Cutting Vision.
"As an editor you can propose what you think is right for a commercial. But
you have to be flexible," he says." "What we do is art, and as artists we
can't lose sight of the fact that the client knows the product better than
we do. It's up to us to do the best we can with our art while meeting the
client's and agency's needs."
Says Beckerman "We are all extremely excited about Luis joining us. He is a
true creative talent and we are sure he will make a big impression in NY."
