Press Release

MusicBox, a leading music production company that provides thousands of cuts from its original music catalog, as well as original composition and scoring, to television programs, promos, commercials, and feature films, proudly announces the launch of its new “MusicBoxLIVE” service. MusicBoxLIVE is MusicBox’s new search and download tool, which will allow online access to its entire library for the first time. The announcement was made today by company co-founders/composers Dan Stein and Joel Goodman.
MusicBox’s entire catalog is now available for downloading, either in CD quality aiff or hi-resolution mp3 file formats, via MusicBoxLIVE, which enables listeners to search the catalog using selected moods, genres, tempos, instrumentation, and user definable keywords.
Other significant features of the new MusicBoxLIVE service include the fact that MusicBoxLIVE remains completely current in regard to all new company releases; will be updated at least once monthly; will mark all of its tracks with MetaData; and will allow users direct access to MusicBox representatives.
Regarding the versatility of the new search engine, Goodman and Stein said, “We designed MusicBoxLIVE to be helpful to any potential user for any potential project. For example, under the mood list, a user can select a single adjective, or combine multiple selections, to narrow a search. Under the instruments list, a user can click one, or combine multiple instruments, to find the ensemble they are looking for. If a user has a style in mind but they don’t see it in the ‘mood list,’ they have the ability to type any word or phrase into the keyword box to find the required track. The ability to browse the catalog by CD title is also available through MusicBoxLIVE, under a separate tab.”
Users may also click on a track name, and every related track for that selection will be displayed in a window with descriptions and timings of each piece. When the play button is pushed next to a selection, a user can hear the track in its entirety. All composer and publishing information is also displayed along with tempo and instrumentation.
In addition, MusicBoxLIVE also has a customizable ‘Projects’ area. Once an account name and password has been established, a user can create project bins to save selections under user defined headings. Once a group of selections is ready for download, all it takes is one mouse click to download every selected file in the project bin at once. The ability to download individual tracks while browsing is also available.
