With Debut of BrightDrive Powerful Resolution-Independent Media Sharing for

Bright Systems, Inc., a leading developer of advanced file server systems
for the post production industry, is demonstrating pioneering advances in
infrastructure technology at NAB 2006 with its new BrightDrive family of
high performance, resolution-independent, DDR-grade shared media systems.
BrightDrive provides powerful media sharing capabilities across Ethernet and
Fibre Channel networks allowing teams of operators work on the same massive
data files at the same time. By enabling simultaneous access to files across
different hardware platforms, including video networks, in any format to 4k
and beyond, BrightDrive customers can make significant reductions in time to
completion.
"The new BrightDrive family of shared media solutions is the result of
breakthrough technology developed by our team of specialists," said Antony
Harris, CEO, Bright Systems, Inc. "We are now in a position to offer
concurrency and scalability never before achieved, offering DI and post
production facilities major improvements in workflow efficiencies."
BrightDrive delivers powerful performance levels for a range of DI and
data-centric applications including: disk-to-disk grading, uncompressed
SD/HD (444/422) collaborative editing and finishing, film scanning, dust
bust/dirt removal and quality control, technical grading, VFX sequence
playback, virtual 'film-out', conforming, color correction and mastering.
The BrightDrive range is fully scalable to meet all DI and post
applications, and can be integrated easily with existing infrastructures.
All systems include the BrightDrive Data Management Suite which comprises
Data Mover, Data Optimizer and Data Wrangler, as well as secure, remote
distributed system diagnostics to ensure reliable, consistent and
uninterrupted high performance. Bright Systems offers a simple migration
path from video-centric workflow requiring minimum or no operator
retraining.
