Given the positive response to the Venue Receiver
system introduced at last year's NAB, Lectrosonics has designed the VR Field
receiver to provide audio/video professionals with a portable receiver for
remote recording applications. The specifications and performance of the VR
Field are identical to those in the standard rack-mounted version.
To meet field criteria, the VR Field system is powered from a single
NP1-type battery and features a compact design to integrate with mobile bag
systems for ENG, video and film production. A front panel cover was added to
prevent spray and dust from collecting on controls or display.
Salient features of the Venue Receiver System includes a modular design
hosting up to six receivers and employs the company's Digital Hybrid
Wireless(tm) architecture for compander-free audio in native 400-series
mode. Additional modes are selectable, allowing compatibility with older
Lectrosonics systems and also transmitters from two other manufacturers.
The system operates with standard VRS receiver modules or VRT modules with
tracking front-end filters for congested RF environments. Offering three
selectable diversity modes – phased, ratio and frequency diversity – and RF
scanning for easy selection of clear frequencies, the receiver can be
programmed and monitored via USB with supplied PC software interface.
