Luxology recently unveiled modo 201, a 3D modeling, painting and rendering software program built on the ultra-clean modo code base. The software combines 3D painting and rendering tools in a modern workflow, customized to save you time during production.
Inside modo’s hybrid subdivision surface/polygon modeler you’ll find a new Solid Sketch tool for creating branched base meshes and a new Mesh Paint tool for placing geometric details like whiskers or hairs on all your characters. There’s also real-time bump mapping in the 3D painting tools, a full range of brushes, and many new line, fill and gradient tools. $895 ($395, upgrade).
