Dayang Introduces Integrated HD Workstation

Allows Five Layers of HD Stream Playout in Real Time

Dayang Technology Development, the Beijing-based maker of broadcast electronics, will introduce a new integrated HD workstation at NAB (booth SU10205) that handles video, audio, multi-layer effects, titles and graphics in a single box.
The D3-Edit HD9 high-definition workstation allows five layers of HD stream playout in real time with 3D DVEs active on the top four layers. High-grade 12-bit real-time chroma-key, luma-key, graphics and title-key matte extraction are incorporated, including fine mask adjustment.

Users can produce 3D titles and objects and deliver real-time CG scenes. Preconfigured or template-based settings can be selected for use in fast-paced environments, such as sports or late-breaking news. Full HD and SD editing facilities are augmented by 12-bit (primary/secondary/local) color correction together with real-time signal analysis.

The D3-Edit HD9 has four upconversion modes (window, box, margin and zoom) and three downconversion modes (box, margin and zoom), which can be selected in any combination. Interfaces include composite, Y/C, component, HD-SDI, SD-SDI, AES/EBU digital audio and balanced analog audio. HD video and downconverted SD video can be output simultaneously. IEEE-1394 devices such as miniDV, DVCAM, DVCPRO25/50, Panasonic P2/P2 HD and Sony XDCAM/XDCAM HD are also supported.

Audio features include waveform editing, audio mixing and interfacing with third-party audio workstations via industry-standard XML.
