Really Useful Tools for FCP Editors: FCP Maintenance Pack

The folks at Digital Rebellion, who have given us some of the most useful Final Cut Studio maintenance apps like FCS Remover, Preference Manager and Compressor Repair, have recently released their most ambitious project to date. FCS Maintenance Pack is a $99 (that’s the introductory price) collection of applications “designed to keep your Final Cut Studio machine running at optimal performance and help resolve problems when they arise.” Oh how we have often had crashes and craziness inside Final Cut Pro and its supporting apps and wished for something similar. That $99 gets you 9 applications including: Autosave Cleaner, Content Manager, Corrupt Clip Finder, Crash Analyzer, FCS Housekeeper, File Salvage, Plugin Manager, Project Repair and System Toolkit (in addition to the older Digital Rebellion apps mentioned above). The function of the apps are pretty self-explanatory from their titles but for more details about what they do then visit the FCS Maintenance Pack webpage. There’s a free 15 day trial available but I suspect this is one of those tools any serious FCP editor will want to have around. I’m almost wishing a problem would crop up so I can use these tools! (just kidding). Though knowing FCP’s nature I’m sure there will be one any day now.
