According to AZCAR president/COO Gavin Schutz, the intent is to “quickly build Matchframe Video into a center of excellence for creation and distribution of all forms of media for mid-level or smaller clients who currently are not able to be serviced by the large, ‘factory based’ post-production facilities.” “By having access to AZCAR’s deep technical resources, Matchframe will be able to provide very sophisticated media services optimized to our client’s specific needs,” adds Schutz.

Matchframe CEO Marvin Rich notes that AZCAR’s specialization in building high-technology based content manufacturing and repurposing facilities will give Matchframe clients “access to sophisticated technologies and workflows by providing them with innovative and cost effective media content programming solutions.” Matchframe will provide a complete range of content management services including library management, content manufacturing and repurposing, and disaster recovery to its global client base, as well as transport and delivery services. The AZCAR acquisition will also allow Matchframe to expand into new markets including new media.

“We will continue to provide the highest level of episodic television and studio media services,” says Rich. “We will also be providing a full range of new media services including media preparation, metadata and asset management, hosting, transport and delivery of new media content.”

Matchframe Video has been a player in the Hollywood post-production community for over 25 years. The company started out with two offline bays and has developed into a full-service HD facility, providing clients with a wide variety of workflows and finishing solutions for projects shot on film, data, RED camera, HD and standard definition. Matchframe’s expanding services include Avid and  Final Cut Pro rentals, online, audio, telecine, visual effects and graphics, file-based technologies (encoding, transcoding and file management) and digital restoration, as well as DVD and Blu-ray mastering and all duplication.

AZCAR is an independent technology integration company providing the broadcast and communications industries with value-driven solutions, consulting, engineering, systems design, integration, project management and the supply of related materials and equipment.  The stock trades on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol: AZZ.
