In the spirit of the 1980 James L. Brooks TV Show Take On Network Censorship video posted here yesterday comes another vintage piece of video for all the post-production geeks out there. It’s a Sony U-matic demo from 1971, the year Sony introduced the technology. Don’t be put off by the cheesy chromakey effects, bad chyrons and porn-film background music. At the time, I’m sure this was state of the art. This promo, incidentally, was made the year I was born. For all you young’uns out there who’ve never had to deal with video tape, just take a gander at what it used to be like.
