Five New Rig Configs and Accessories Now Available

Redrock Micro is now shipping its UltraCage|Blue support gear the company first announced in November during Canon’s EOS C300 launch event. The suite of support gear includes five new configurations, from handheld to cinema shouldermount, as well as more than a dozen new accessories to build out the rigs for various production needs. Since the launch, the C300 and Redrock UltraCage has been in production at Saturday Night Live and NCIS: LA.

Pricing for the UltraCage modules start at $550. A shouldermount cinema-style rig lists for $1,507 and a handheld version for $972. Redrock backs up all of its rigs, which are made in the U.S., with a lifetime warranty.

Pre-production models of the UltraCage|Blue rigs were selected by Canon to support the creation of all the films commissioned and shown during the C300’s launch last November. The films included short films by Ron Howard, Richard Crudo, Felix Alcalà¡, Sam Nicholson and Vincent Laforet. For a closer look at how Laforet and his team used the UltraCage and a number of other rigs, arms and setups during the shoot of his film, “Mobius,” watch this behind-the-scenes video by Vimeo’s Blake Whitman:
