New Tungsten-Balanced Line-up Plus Lightweight Sola 4 Daylight Fixture to Debut at NAB

Litepanels will debut the tungsten-balanced Inca series of LED Fresnels at NAB this year, matching the daylight-balanced Sola 6 and Sola 4 lights with the new Inca 6 and Inca 4. (The Sola 4 was introduced at IBC last year.)

The company said target customers for the new lights include studios who are interested in adopting LED lighting technology but need their new purchases to match existing tungsten lights. Litepanels says the LED Fresnels weigh about one-third as much as a traditional Fresnel, feature similar light-shaping capabilities, and have the ability to dim all the way to zero without a noticeable shift in color temperature.

Litepanels will also show recently introduced on-camera LED lights. The variable-temperature Croma and the daylight-balanced Luma draw 9 watts of current, powered by AA batteries or an AC adapter, but Litepanels claims their light output is comparable to a 40-watt HMI or 90-watt tungsten fixture. The daylight-balanced Hilio high-intensity light emits light over a distance of up to 25 feet without an external ballast, the company says, claiming that it compares favorably to traditional HMI lights. It draws 115 watts and provides output equivalent to a 575-watt HMI with a bulb life of 50,000, the company says. It's powered from 100-240VAC 50/60 Hz or a 24VDC battery.

Litepanels will be at the show with parent company Vitec Group in booth C6025.
