Will Ship in October for $495 Each; 250 and 500 GB Modules Also Available

AJA today introduced a new line of media storage for the company's Ki Pro file-based recording devices. Called "KiStor," the USB 3.0-enabled drives will bring much faster throughput and should therefore greatly reduce transfer times when moving media from Ki Pro or Ki Pro Rack to a host computer. A companion to the drives, the SATA-based KiStor Dock, features both Thunderbolt and USB 3.0 I/O for even more high-speed transfer options when working on a Mac or Windows-based laptop or desktop. The enclosed casing, which protects the drives and connection ports, was designed to take a beating out on location.

The new modules and dock are expected to begin shipping in October. The dock and 750 GB module will list for $495 each. Lower-capacity versions of the KiStor module will also be available; a 500 GB version will sell for $385 and at 250 GB version for $265.

AJA also announced today that its Thunderbolt-enabled "pocket" T-Tap, introduced at NAB and featuring HD/SD-SDI and HDMI access on one side and a Thunderbolt port on the other, is now shipping.
