Cinemartin announced Cinec 2.0, a new release of its digital cinema ingest and transcoding tool for Windows that expands support to include raw formats recorded by cameras from Blackmagic Design, Canon, Sony, ARRI, and Red Digital Cinema.

Also new in v2.0 are color-matrix conversions, the ability to use up to six cores for encoding, and a new Raw Converter with parallel processing that supports the conversion of still and raw image files and sequences, including DNG and DPX, to movie clips.

The basic version of Cinec 2, which supports work in up to HD resolutions and outputs to various flavors of DNxHD, ProRes, XDCAM, and H.264, is free software. Upgrades to Cinec Pro (€199/$264) and Cinec Gold (€399/$529) enable an array of power-user features ranging from MXF and DNG input to framerate and velocity transformations, usage of additional cores for image processing, and support for 2K, 4K, and 8K footage. Fully functional trial versions are available for 35 days. See the company's website for a complete list of features and functions.
