This new event for IBC 2014, sponsored by Ross Video, brings together the industry's women and associations to create a lively and thought-provoking panel discussion and networking lunch.

The panel will discuss what companies and the industry are doing to attract women to the industry and asks: Is this enough? How do we educate the next generation of women for non-traditional female roles? And what can those of us already working in this fabulous/exciting do to encourage more women to join us? The event is open to all women and men attending the IBC exhibition.

Panelists currently include: Sadie Groom (MD, Bubble & Squeak), Lesley Johnson (Operations Director, BBC Worldwide), Laura Thommen (VP Enterprise Sales, MelroseTec), Carrie Wootten (Head of Commercial Development, Ravensbourne) and Nicki Fisher (Sales Director EMEA, Clear-Com).

The event will be held from 12.30 – 14.00 on Saturday 13th September in Room D201, on the second floor of the Elysium Suites (Hall 14 where the Sony stand is located.)

David Dowling, EMEA Sales Director of sponsor Ross Video, comments: "We are very pleased to be supporting this FBI initiative and we feel it’s very important for women to have a dedicated forum that can work towards opening up opportunities in the industry. When I look around the broadcast world I’m consistently shocked at the very small number of women in sales, technical and operational roles. That’s something that needs to change. There are a great many well-educated and motivated women who are perfectly capable of developing a successful career in broadcast given the chance. We look forward to working with FBI to help open these doors and ensure we see women working in every type of role in broadcast.”

The event is sponsored by Ross Video and supported by IBC, Women in Film & TV, SVG WISMI and Bubble & Squeak.
