Still working out the implications of the new ACES workflow for editorial and post-production? Burbank's AlphaDogs has scheduled a discussion of the Academy Color Encoding System, as well a reference-grade monitor "shoot-out," for its next Editors' Lounge.

The June 26 event will include a presentation by Alex Forsythe, the Academy's technical lead on the ACES Project. Deluxe DI Colorist Trent Johnson and editor Shelly Westerman will talk about their work on 2015 feature film The Wedding Ringer, which employed ACES from end to end.

At the same event, representatives from manufacturers including Sony, Flanders Scientific, Boland, TV Logic, and others, will be on hand to display reference monitors showing the same content under controlled lighting conditions for the sake of comparisons.

The event takes place beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, June 26, with presentations set to start at 7, at AlphaDogs, 1612 W. Olive Ave., Ste 200, in Burbank. An RSVP is required.
