Combines Wacom Tech Stylus, Intel Core i7 CPU and NVIDIA Quadro GPU

Lenovo has announced the two-in-one ThinkPad P40 Yoga mobile workstation that combines a pen tablet device with a robust, ISV-certified laptop featuring an Intel Core i7 CPU and NVIDIA Quadro M500M GPU. The digital sketchpad/computer, part of a new ThinkPad P series line, is scheduled to ship in the first quarter next year for $1,399.

As its name implies, the pliant P40 Yoga can convert into four primary modes of use—laptop, stand, tent and tablet—via its 2560×1440 resolution, 360-degree rotating screen. The optional ThinkPad Pen Pro features a specially developed Wacom driver that can detect a full 2,048 levels of pressure sensitivity, letting users create more textural designs. It is also notable for its shading and tilt angles, similar to those possible with the recently released Apple Pencil for the iPad Pro.

The new ThinkPad includes up to 16 GB RAM and 512 GB SSD storage. The company says its battery will last for 8 hours on a single charge.
