Magewell launched two 4K-over-HDMI PCIe video capture cards at IBC — the Pro Capture HDMI 4K and Pro Capture HDMI 4K Plus. They join the previously announced Pro Capture AIO 4K Plus card, introduced at NAB earlier this year, in Magewell's line-up.

While the Pro Capture AIO 4K Plus offers 6G-SDI input (for capturing 2160p30 4K) along with HDMI 2.0 input (for 2160p60 UHD), the two new cards feature only HDMI inputs. The Pro Capture HDMI 4K Plus can capture 2160p60 via HDMI 2.0, while the Pro Capture HDMI 4K can capture 2160p30 via HDMI 1.4.

Magewell said all three cards support 4096×2160 4K and 3840×2160 UHD Picture rasters at up to 12-bit depth and 4:4:4 color space. Drivers are currently available for Windows and Linux, with Mac support coming "soon," the company said.
