Promise Technology is loading its desktop RAID enclosures with storage-management software from Symply, billing the new Thunderbolt 3-enabled Pegasus3 Symply Edition as a match for the new MacBook Pro, which features USB-C ports that won't accept legacy USB peripherals.

The Symply Edition is shipping in four-, six- and eight-drive configurations with the Symply Management suite preinstalled. Each drive includes Symply's macOS Management App, and the ability to monitor systems remotely using iOS or the Apple Watch is "coming soon," the companies said. The Symply Management suite is compatible with "most" previous Pegasus systems as well, Symply said.

"The Pegasus3 Symply Edition is not only the best experience for Mac users, it's an important step in building out a larger, shared creative user workflow," said Symply President and CEO Alex Grossman in a prepared statement.

The new Symply Edition systems are set to be carried by Apple both online and at retail stores, as well as select non-Apple-operated resellers.
