VCG Founders Chanalet-Quercy and Kirchhof at December's Lumiere Awards in Liege, Belgium

Three virtual reality specialists have merged to form the multinational VR conglomerate Virtual Content Group (VCG).

Based out of France, Germany and Australia, Paris's Cow Prod, Berlin's Invr.Space and Melbourne's 3D Content Hub are offering production, post-production and licensing for VR content.

BCG said it has produced or co-produced more than 150 projects for clients including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Disney, Netflix, and NBC Universal, and that it holds the rights to nearly 80 of them. "Building our own IP is core to our business model," said co-founder and CEO Torsten Hoffmann in a prepared statement.

VCG received two Lumiere Awards from The VR Society last month. One was for BMWi and Samsung 360°, which combined 3D 360 live-action capture and AR elements, and the other for "Temptation of St. Anthony," which puts viewers inside a Hieronymous Bosch painting.
