Burger Fiction has collected shots from every winner of the Best Cinematography Oscar from 1927 to the present-day. Some of the compression artifacts are a little rough (and it's a crime that Rosher and Struss's gorgeous work on Sunrise gets a lousy 2.5 seconds at the very beginning of the reel), but it's a treat to see the evolution of ideas about light, shadow, lensing, color, and degree of realism over the course of 90 years of feature filmmaking.
