As the industry gears up for an IBC show that promises to showcase increasingly affordable 4K workflow options, FOR-A is looking ahead to 8K broadcast.

The Tokyo company said it had formed a new joint venture for advanced research with U.K.-based InSync Technology, a specialist in image processing and standards conversion hardware design and maker of FrameFormer format-conversion software. The new company will be named InSync Technology Products and will collaborate mainly on the design and development of 8K UHDTV signal-processing equipment, FOR-A said.

“With the formation of this new joint venture, we are able to unite InSync and FOR-A’s most talented engineers in creating highly novel products which address immediate and forthcoming 8K market requirements,” said FOR-A President Katsuaki Kiyohara in a prepared statement. “We chose to partner with InSync because of their world-leading motion compensation technology,” he added.
