Stockholm’s Chimney now has offices in New York, the latest part of an expansion that sees the global production and post corporation operating in 14 locations worldwide, including a Santa Monica office that enjoyed its grand opening early last year.
The 6,000-square-foot facility on West 27th Street in Manhattan will offer clients multiple Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve and Autodesk Flame suites alongside cutting rooms, a DI theater and — through a joint venture with neighbor Gigantic Studios, two blocks uptown — a Dolby Atmos mix stage.
Chimney said its U.S. operations are now being headed by Marcelo Gandola, CEO North America, a former executive at Harbor Picture Company, Hogarth, and Deluxe. Joining Gandola in New York are Head of Color North America Lez Rudge and Managing Director Ed Rilli, both formerly of Nice Shoes.
Sam O’Hare has been named CCO and lead VFX artist, and cinematographer and colorist Vincent Taylor is joining Chimney from MPC Shanghai.
