Cambridge, U.K.-based Global Distribution has purchased Symply, a maker of SAN, NAS and other storage products that use Quantum’s StorNext file system.

Executives said the acquisition of such products as the SymplyUltra platform, with both Fibre Channel and Ethernet connectivity, will extend Global’s existing partnership with Quantum.

Former Symply President and CEO Alex Grossman, who started the company after a three-year tenure at Quantum, is now listed on its website only as founder. Effective immediately, Symply products are being sold through Global Distribution’s worldwide reseller network.

In addition to its U.K. headquarters, Global has offices in Culver City, CA, Munich, Germany, and Stockholm, Sweden.
