Rob Ballingall

NYC studio Sonic Union hired composer and mixer Rob Ballingall to work on immersive experiences and other emerging technology projects out of the company’s locations in Bryant Park and Union Square.

Most recently at Nylon Studios, Ballingall has a résumé that includes compositions for clients including Ford, Kellogg’s and Walmart and sound design and engineering on projects including Amazon’s Resistance Radio campaign promoting The Man in the High Castle. He recently created an in-theater commercial using Dolby Atmos, D-Box and 4DX technology for Mercedes-Benz Canada and created immersive audio for custom VR headsets used in National Geographic’s One Strange Rock VR experience.

“Since expanding last year, we’ve attracted interest from some very talented and respected people,” said Sonic Union Managing Director and co-founder Adam Barone in a prepared statement. “We’ve mostly grown from within. It was apparent though, that Rob’s valuable skill-set would meet the increasing asks by clients for a more creative and challenging role in sound.“
