AJA Ki Pro Go

AJA’s Ki Pro Go is targeted at AV users looking for H.264 recording and playback, which is a good way to publish media that will be easily viewable on a wide range of devices, both consumer and pro. But don’t confuse this with a prosumer device — it’s pro gear, with 3G-SDI, balanced XLR analog audio, and HDMI and SDI multi-channel matrix monitoring capabilities. It records up to four channels of HD and SD content (via SDI and HDMI sources) to standard .MP4 or .MOV files at up to 25 Mbps (with support for 10-bit 4:2:2) to standard USB media via five USB 3.0 ports — four on the front and one more on the back, for redundant recording. Best of all, it can record to thumb drives, HDDs, or SSDs, as long as they connect at USB 3.0 speeds.

Blackmagic Design ATEM Constellation 8K

Take a moment to consider the new ATEM Constellation 8K UHD live production switcher. Yes, it’s an 8K-ready piece of gear, supporting 10 quad-link 12G-SDI sources in formats up to 4320p60. Even if you’re not doing 8K production today, that may be important to you as a future-proofing feature. But it also hints at the power and flexibility of this box when used with non-8K inputs. It features 40 independent 12G-SDI inputs individually supporting formats up to 2160p60. What’s more, each one has a dedicated upconverter/crossconverter, so up to 40 HD or UHD sources can be upscaled to 8K. What else comes with? Four M/Es, 24 12G-SDI aux outputs, four DVEs, 16 ATEM Advanced Keyers, four media players, four multiviewers, an internal 156-channel Fairlight audio mixer, and more. It’s all in a 2RU form factor with a built-in control panel and large LCD. A software panel is available, and it works with all of Blackmagic’s dedicated ATEM control panel hardware.

SmallHD Cine 7 Pro Monitor with Arri Camera Control

SmallHD used NAB to launch a new line of seven-inch full-HD touchscreen monitors with Arri Alexa Mini, Alexa Mini LF and Amira camera-control capabilities via an optional $500 license. Not an Arri user? Red and Sony support is coming later this year. The Cine 7 line-up is available in a basic version for wired production, but three wireless models have Teradek Bolt technology built in — 500 TX for on-camera monitoring and wireless transmission, or 500 RX or Sidekick for receiving signals. The new platform uses a daylight-viewable (1,800-nit) display with 100% coverage of the DCI P3 color gamut. All models have dual 3G-SDI inputs and a two-pin power input plus HDMI in and out.
