Austin director and animator Mark Lopez (Silkworm Studio) co-wrote this short film based on author Richard Rothstein’s book The Color of Law, to remind viewers of the not-so-secret history of federal-, state- and local-level legislation that kept U.S. cities highly segregated by race. It’s almost 20 minutes long, but well worth the watch — information-rich, easy to understand, and beautifully designed, with a highly engaging attention to detail and a smart sound mix by Brooklyn’s YouTooCanWoo. More info is online at the film’s official website.
