Intense Collaboration on Kung Fu Panda's End Credits

Post your comments below

Kung Fu Panda has captured critics and audiences with its irreverent mix of martial arts and heart — it's a tale of a slacker panda who dreams of being a kung fu master. Design and branding studio Shine was tasked with creating a main title sequence that conveyed all this while serving as a bookend to the 2D dream sequence that opens the film, and crediting the 900 people who worked on it. The result, which clocks in at nine minutes, is a mini-movie in its own right.

I'm sorry to say that my friend and I were the only people that remained in the theater for the credits. It worked for us! We kept commenting on different aspects of the fantastic artwork and how we would love to have woodblock prints of some of them to add to our individual Japanese art collections. Bravo!

Where does it mention the brilliant Dan Meehan? I bet he's glad I showed him After Effects way back when. He was way better than I at it anyway b/c he was a whiz at Photoshop already. Plus, he's just so darn TALENTED!!!

The final scene, after the credits, with Po and Master Shifu sitting together, eating dumplings, was priceless. It's my favorite scene in the whole movie.

Cant wait for the DVD!
