Now that a star-studded beta test is complete, Eastman Kodak has priced its Look Manager and is currently making licenses available to DPs, post companies, studios, and labs.

As of mid-September, Look Manager has been available on CD from Kodak sales reps and can be evaluated for a short period for free, according to Robert Mayson, GM of image capture products amd VP of Kodak’s entertainment imaging division. Designed to standardize communications between a cinematographer and his dailies supervisor, Look Manager will also preserve the DP’s original intent for reference by the digital grader after the edit has been locked. Display Manager is a separate program that allows users to ensure that all monitors throughout the process, from the DP’s laptop to the monitors in the lab or post house, are calibrated.

The personal edition of Look Manager, aimed at DPs, costs $999. Studios, post companies, and labs will be assessed by the length of their licenses, allowing them to use the software simply for the duration of one project. The pricing structure: is: $750 for one week, $2,000 for one month, or $12,000 for one year.

The DPs who field-tested Look Manager include Dante Spinotti, Stephen Goldblatt, and Karl Walter Lindenlaub, among others.
