HydroFlex Takes Sony’s HDW-950 Underwater

Post your comments below

HydroFlex President Pete Romano knows a thing or two about underwater cinematography. (He’s a former Navy diver whose film credits include Gothika and Pearl Harbor.) To help DPs get their digital feet wet, he conceived the HD Remote AquaCam — a Sony HDW-F950 camera in an underwater housing built to hold a Fujinon HA13×4.5 wide-angle HDTV Cine Style zoom lens and Preston camera-control system. Romano says HD lends itself to submerged shoots: "Once in the water, the camera doesn’t come out until you’ve wrapped."
