Senior Colorist and industry veteran Steve Rodriguez has joined Riot/Los Angeles. The announcement was made by Michael Taylor, Riot's Managing Director.
“I am very excited to introduce Steve Rodriguez to the creative world of Riot telecine,” says Taylor. “His talent and experience will be a great asset to our expanding services.”

Rodriguez began his career in post as an overnight dubber at AME in Burbank, California. After 18 months on the graveyard shift, and long days at two other post houses, he switched gears and landed at Action Video in Hollywood. Soon, Rodriguez was coloring for everyone. Working with the highest profile directors and agencies of the day, Rodriguez’s talent and reputation dominated the ’90s. After eight years at Action, he colored at The Post Group, Post Logic, and Hollywood Digital. He was opening Colorist for HD-West, a Santa Monica boutique post house. That space was eventually taken over by Company 3, where he remained for 7+ years. Rodriguez has brought his trusted assistant of 17 years, Todd Sutherland, along with him to Riot.

For Rodriguez, joining Riot is a “return to his roots”. He notes, “I have the opportunity to once again work on visual effects-driven projects. Riot is doing so much work in visual effects right now. When I first toured the facility with Michael Taylor, I was blown away. I am really excited about getting back to the intricacy of these kind of detail-oriented projects, since this is really where I began my career and where my passion lies.”

Recent projects for Steve Rodriguez include commercial campaigns for Chevy, Playstation, Energizer and Area 51.
