Saturday night, the RED Digital Cinema headquarters in Lake Forest, CA, were burglarized and the company is offering $100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrators.
According to posts on various messageboards by RED owner Jim Jannard, the theft included “many computers, drives, monitors, prototypes (including our "shiny" aluminum IBC prototype), ID files and our Scratch system” but appears to not have included “any sensors, sensor information or our primary ‘Frankenstein’ shooting camera.”
Jannard stated this will not delay the development of the RED 4K camera, tenatively set to ship the first units in December.
