Eden FX Adds VFX Supervisor Mark Kolpack

Eden FX, a Hollywood-based creator of visual effects for feature films, television programs and commercial advertising content, has added Mark Kolpack as Visual Effects Supervisor. The announcement was made today by Eden FX co-founders John Gross and Mark Miller.




Most recently, Kolpack was the Visual Effects Supervisor on the hit NBC TV series Heroes. Some of his other credits include effects work on Commander in Chief, Ruffian, One Tree Hill and Thief.

Regarding the appointment, Gross and Miller said, “We are thrilled that Mark has joined Eden FX. He is a very seasoned Visual Effects Supervisor with a broad range of experience encompassing a wide variety of projects. He will make a solid contribution to the future of our company.” Mark Kolpack has worked in the film industry since 1985. Most recently, Mark served as the Visual Effects Supervisor for NBC’s hit series, Heroes, where he created some of the most impressive visual effects on television. He also supervised the visual effects for ESPN’S/ABC MOW Ruffian and Commander in Chief for ABC. Before that, he served as in-house VFX Supervisor/Producer for The Post Group, where he worked on Scooby Doo2 and HBO’s The Life & Death of Peter Sellers.

Mark opened his own company, Perfx, in l996, where he produced Visual Effects for Visa, Lockheed / Martin, AT&T, Cadillac, HBO, Nike, Cap’n Crunch, Ford and Weight Watchers. While still with Perfx, he completed composite work on New Line Cinema’s Blade and Rush Hour as well as the main title design for Centropolis’ Godzilla in 1998.

Earlier in his career, Mark worked with Joe Pytka’s commercial production company, PYTKA, as the company’s Visual Effects Supervisor and head of Post Production. During this time, he oversaw the effects on numerous commercial projects, including those for Nike, McDonalds, Apple, Alamo, Levis, Doritos, Pepsi, and GAP.

In the area of additional feature film projects, Mark worked on Batman Forever, with John Dykstra, where he was given the responsibility of completing the show’s screening composites in 1995. He has also worked for director Adam Shankman on The Wedding Planner.
