Director Jeffrey Fleisig has uber - jfleisigjoined Über Content for exclusive US spot representation. He comes over from Biscuit Filmworks. The award-winning spot helmer, who has received Cannes Lions, D&AD Pencils, AICP/MoMA honors, and an EMMY, counts Compass Bank (CP+B), Axe (BBH), ONDCP (FCB-NY), and Meijer (DeVito/Verdi) among his notable work. He recently completed spot projects for Wendy's and Verizon, both via McCann-Erickson/NY.

Fleisig, known for off-center humor and dialogue work, cited Über's "grace, dedication, and expertise," as key factors in the move. "I had been hearing Über's name in the press, at awards shows, and ad biz circles," said Fleisig. West Coast rep Brent Novick, who Fleisig credits with starting his career when they were both at VILLAINS, suggested he meet with the company. "Once I had the opportunity to meet with (Über Content Partners/Executive Producers) Phyllis Koenig and Preston Lee, who have tremendous industry experience, it was clear that they bring the energy and determination needed to make things happen - this is a passionate new company, with a diverse yet small roster on its way to making its mark and I want to part of that."

"From our perspective, Jeffrey's work resonated immediately and I responded to his sensibilities, both artistically and personally - I really liked Jeffrey for Jeffrey," said Koenig. "We rarely sign directors impulsively but we knew fairly quickly that there was a mutual excitement. Jeffrey's enthusiasm and eagerness really motivated us."

Fleisig described his departure from Biscuit, where he had been on the roster for seven years, as "leaving one great company for another great company," and stated that he has tremendous respect for the outfit and management, but "just felt that I needed to make a change and keep evolving as a director."

Prior to discovering his passion for eliciting strong performances in off-beat conceptual spots, Fleisig was a cum laude grad with a degree in finance, embarking a lucrative career as an investment banker. He turned his back on that vision to pursue an ongoing quest for the unusual. "The work I look for has broad appeal but at the same time is fresh and unique, ideas that are left or right of center," Fleisig said. "I strive to spin the film in a way that's surprising, impacting, and of course, entertaining. The idea is paramount, and adding something unexpected is essential."

"Jeffrey's work is obviously fantastic, and coupled with his enthusiasm for great creative, he's a perfect fit for our roster and culture," added Lee. "We're looking forward to a long and productive relationship and, fingers crossed, a little advice on our investment portfolio."

In addition to spot work, Fleisig, who divides his time between New York and Los Angeles, is developing Feature and Television projects. He rounds out an Über Content roster comprised of Jordan Brady, Gentlemen, Todd Field, Stewart Hendler, Jason Kohn, Sean Mullens, and Marc Schölermann.
