At IBC (stand #9.449) Sachtler is introducing two new fluid heads for HDV camcorders, the FSB 2 & FSB 6. The FSB 2 fluid head is the first on the market to accept a payload from 0 to 4.5 lbs. while using Sachtler’s “Snap & Go” sideload mechanism. The FSB 2 features a counterbalance of 0 and 1. The heads have three damping steps, horizontally and vertically each, as well as zero.
The company will also show the FSB Cell, a new concept in battery design that supplies all-day power to HDV camcorders. It uses F-Cell, a 7.2 volt lithium ion rechargeable battery that is mounted directly below the camera. This makes handling easy and unique POV shots a breeze.
Combined with Sachtler’s new FSB 2 and FSB 6 fluid heads, it forms the heart of the new battery concept. The lower side of the battery is shaped like a camera plate, letting it be mounted exactly on the fluid head. This ensures safe attachment, while the weight of the battery on the fluid head improves handling for the camera operator, ensuring even, steady pans.
