Automatically Sync Dailies in Final Cut with Sync N Link

Post your comments below

At the latest Alpha Dogs Editors' Lounge, post production guru Philip Hodgetts from The Assistant Editor and Intelligent Assistance demonstrated his new application for Final Cut Pro, Sync N Link, for synchronizing sound and picture shot dual-system. Sync N Link does what Avid's Auto-Sync function does, plus more. Footage and sound files with the same timecode can be automatically synched with a few clicks, either before or after the edit.

Going beyond what the Avid Auto-Sync function can do, Sync N Link provides another workflow option catering to indie filmmakers. For picture editors that do not want delve into multiple audio tracks, they can simply cut with the sound from the camera (obviously fed from the audio mixer), then sync up the master audio tracks and pass it off to the dialogue editor.

Check out the video below to hear how Sync N Link works.

this is great. We spoke a month ago. For those working in film with no matching time of day code, is there an 'auto-detect' program that finds the 'click' in the audio to manually advance to the next slate.
