Gefen has introduced two new matrix switching systems that provide an easy way to connect multiple HD audio/video sources and displays. Source switching is controlled by a Gefen IR remote control unit or through the RS-232 port (available on all three rack mountable units). Source switching occurs instantly, so there is no downtime or noticeable lag between source selections.
There’s the 8x4 HDMI Matrix switcher, which allows up to eight HDMI sources to be accessed at any time from any one of four HDMI displays or projectors. When selected, each source delivers 1080p instantly to its assigned display with multi-channel audio.
The 4x4 Component Audio over CAT5 Matrix is a dual-function switcher that directly connects any four component video sources and four displays. Each video input and output supports audio in digital and analog stereo audio formats. Users can also employ small, individual receivers for each display to extend video and audio signals over CAT-5 up to 300 meters with a perfect replication of audio and video resolutions to 1080p.
