Mini-Movies Brand Image For IFC

Post your comments below

Hollywood is the butt of the joke in two quirky minute-long promos for IFC’s celebrity-hosted program Escape From Hollywood. In the 60-second " Hollywood Women," host actor/director John Cameron is seen casually filling up at an LA gas station when he is confronted by an overly dramatic woman sporting movie-star sunglasses and glam attire from another era. Spouting nonsensical lines that sound straight out of a bad B movie, she freaks out on innocent bystander Cameron. Squirming back to his car, he locks the doors and squeals away, leaving her ranting on the pavement behind. Graphics appear only over the final images of the promos, which are shot as mini-movies. With a clever jab at the kind of Hollywood-produced movies viewers will not see on IFC, they use wit to reinforce the channel’s promise of airing only truly independent films.
