Spotlight on Lighting: Easy as LED

Post your comments below

Sachtler is introducing its first LED on-camera light, the Reporter 8LED. The new luminaire requires only 8 watts of power yet produces a light output of 250 lumens. Its minimal heat generation allows it to be set up extremely close to the object being filmed. With an input voltage range of 6 to 24 volts, the 8LED is well-suited for work with everything from compact 7.2 volt HDV camcorders to broadcast cameras, and in various environments, such as a car interior. The Sachtler Reporter 8LED is available in a standard daylight version and, with an exchangeable LED module, it can be converted to a tungsten light. $399; $1,295 (with accessories). www.sachtler.us
