Spotlight on NAB: From Shared Storage to Shared Editing

Post your comments below

Maximum Throughput, best known for its flagship Sledgehammer storage system, is getting into the server-based and Web-based editing space. At NAB the company will introduce MAXedit Server Edition and MAXedit Web Edition, which feature a rich, multi-resolution editing toolset that can be shared among multiple HD and SD workgroups via a familiar browser interface. Created to reduce congestion on Local Area Networks and eliminate the need for expensive, dedicated NLEs and LAN upgrades, MAXedit Server Edition supports multiple compressed and uncompressed SD/HD formats, including HDV, DVCPRO and MPEG-2. MAXedit Web Edition is a hosted, subscription-based online editing service that features adaptive streaming technology for frame-accurate control. Both will be demoed at NAB Booth in the company’s booth (SL11711). Prices TBA.
