Joel Says Keep In Mind...
KIT 1 (Sony HVR-Z1U) - We have combined Sony’s Professional HDV camera the HVR-Z1U with a cine style matte box, follow focus and monitor. This package is good for cost effective HD acquisition and suits the independent film maker or someone looking to shoot today with protection for both 16:9 and HD future needs.
KIT 2 (Panasonic HDX-400p) - This package utilizes Panasonic’s HDX-400p 1080 HD camera which provides the most cost effective package with a full size HD camera with 2/3”imager. The ability to capture both interlace and progressive (but not 24p) makes this a flexible camera package that enables you, unlike the Z1U, to use a wide range of lenses. This package includes an engineering rack with down-conversion and 3:2 pull down for producer viewing in NTSC without the progressive flicker.
KIT 3 (Panasonic Varicam) - This kit has the accessories as Kit #2, however its based on the very popular Panasonic HDC-27F Varicam. The one exception with this camera is its 24p and over-crank and under-crank abilities. It is fast becoming a professional shooters preference.
KIT 4 (Sony F900) - This kit is accessorized with the same set of gear as kits 2 & 3. The exception here is Sony’s F900/3 CineAlta camera. The F900, which shoots 1080 24p, 30p or 30i, is arguably the most demanded HD camera. It is largley used by episodic television production and feature films. While popular for capturing the highest quality HD image, this camera package is significantly more then the Varicam and HDX.
