Autodesk Fires Up (And Opens) Its Systems

Post your comments below

Autodesk has released new versions of its Inferno, Flame and Flint visual effects systems, as well as the Fire and Smoke editing/finishing systems, for Linux-based PCs. The new releases deliver open file systems for improved interoperability with third-party applications, as well as 100 percent clip compatibility across the Autodesk visual effects and editing/finishing pipeline.

The releases also feature an updated user interface (UI) that’s streamlined across the products, making it easier to switch between applications, and offers more tools on the desktop.

The 2008 releases are available now and will later ship with HP 9400 workstations. Pricing N/A.
