GMAX Storage Solutions is releasing the first Raid controller to be developed and manufactured in the U.S. There are two version of the controller, the Star-X-F5 with a 4Gb Fibre connector and the Star-X-S5 with one eSATA port; both controllers allow the RAID unit to be configured as Raid 0,3 or Raid 5. Each unit comes as a 5 Bay unit scalable from 1.25 Tb to 20 Tb with a eSATA interface. Star-X-F5 is scalable from 1.25Tb to 10Tb using one dual Channel card or up to 20Tb using one 4 channel Fibre Card. GMAX uses a 5 BAY desktop solution for the controllers to minimize cost but also to still let cutomers use their eSATA or Fibre Ports on their computers.
