While the availability of HD programming continues to increase, industry professionals we surveyed report that educating their clients is the biggest part of landing any HD job. Only about 11 percent indicated that their clients have a “good” or “excellent” understanding of HDTV. That’s due in part to the fact that the largest proportion of the respondents are working in the industrial/corporate market for corporate clients. Respondents with a large number of broadcast clients said they were somewhat more HD-savvy — about 22 percent were rated “good.” The largest proportion of respondents were producers, followed by editors (19.8%), DPs/camera crew (13.8%), and directors (11.5%).
