Michael Fink on the Changing Role of the VFX Supervisor

Post your comments below

In this video VFX supervisor Michael Fink, recently appointed as president of visual effects worldwide at Frantic Films, a division of Prime Focus Group, talks about how the role of visual effects has changed since he started in the industry back when he had to know more about black & white film stocks. Fink shows examples from "Golden Compass" to detail some of the challenges that VFX supervisors have to contend with now that the creative decisions are made, and then changed, throughout the production up until weeks before the release.

This video was shot during a seminar sponsored by the Visual Effects Society at CineGear 2008. Look for the other videos with VFX supervisors Jeffrey Okun and John Knoll.
