Join creative director Marcello Grande, from WESTERNIZED Productions, and host of SFMOGRAPH, as he walks you through some recent projects and shows you how to save time and have fun creating visual effects using GenArts Sapphire in After Effects. Marcello will be explaining how to use Sapphire Textures, Convolve, Defocus and Z Glow. He will also be showing some 3D relighting techniques that take advantage of Light 3D, a Sapphire tool that allows you to relight a 3D model within After Effects to make on-the-fly decisions based on your AE scene. Ask him questions about his technique and workflows during a live Q+A at the end of the tutorials.
Marcello Grande is the Creative Director of WESTERNIZED Productions in Los Angeles. Born and raised in LA and an early afficiannado of the Hip-Hop and graffiti subcultures, Grande received his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Experimental Animation from CalArts, and spent time studying graphic design at Pasadena Art Center, and UCLA. As a commercial artist, he has been a Producer, Production Coordinator, VFX Supervisor, Editor, Illustrator, Graphic Designer, Art Director, and of course, Animator. He is also an award-winning designer recognized for his non-conformist style. He has worked for a range of clients, including Apple, Adobe, Cisco Systems, Daimler Chrysler, Ford, Gap/Banana Republic, Gortex, IDEO, Interscope/Geffen, és shoes, Expedia, FUBU, Hewlett Packard, Home Depot, Hugo Boss, Jockey, Proctor & Gamble, Target, and WalMart.
