Spotlight on Green: Liberty Wire & Cable Gets the Lead (and Mercury) Out

Post your comments below

Liberty Wire & Cable, a supplier of wire and cable products for the audio and video markets, now offers a range of products that comply with Green Market standards for environmentally friendly components. More than 90 percent of Liberty’s 6,000-plus products already comply with the Restriction on Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive that calls for reductions in lead, mercury, cadmium, hexevalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) in electronic and electrical equipment. The company says that its commitment is a result of the significant increase in demand for RoHS-compliant products in the A/V market, most of it a result of bid specifications on new installations. www.libertycable.com
